Each year, the American Library Association’s Popular Paperbacks committee creates lists of books to encourage young adults to read for pleasure. Spy Goddess was included on their list of fiction and nonfiction about those who operate within the world of shadow.

2006 New York Public Library Best Books for the Teen Age
Each year, the New York Public Library staff shared the best titles for teens in an annual list called Books for the Teen Age. Spy Goddess was named to that list in 2006.
2006 Edgar Award Nominee
Each spring, Mystery Writers of America present the Edgar Awards, widely acknowledged to be the most prestigious awards in the genre. Spy Goddess was nominated for Best Young Adult Mystery.
Junior Library Guild Selection
The Junior Library Guild read thousands of books every year and recommends only the best to school and public libraries. Into the Killing Seas is on their selected list of books.
2007 Georgia State Book Award Nominee
Throughout each year, teachers and media specialists across the state of Georgia are encouraged to present the nominees in appealing and meaningful ways, to read the books aloud, and to develop activities that will connect the literature to the curriculum. Students across the state vote on which books they think should win for the individual categories. The Legend of Blue Jacket was a 2007 Georgia State Book Award nominee.
Best Books List 2011, The National Council of Social Studies and The Children’s Book Council
The National Council of Social Studies, in conjunction with The Children’s Book Council, placed Off Like The Wind! The First Ride of The Pony Express on the Best Books List for 2011 — Click on notable_2011, scroll to the History Section. Off Like The Wind! is on page 9.
The Dorothy Canfield Children’s Book Award
Co-sponsored by the Vermont State PTA and the Vermont Department of Libraries, the Dorothy Canfield Children’s Book Award is Vermont’s children’s choice award program. Each spring, a committee of eight carefully selects 30 books to comprise the Master List. After reading at least 5 books from the list, students in grades 4-8 then vote for their favorite titles the following spring.
The Maine Student Book Award
Jointly sponsored by the Maine Library Association, Maine Association of School Libraries, and Maine Reading Association, the Maine Student Book Award is a children’s choice award program. Students in grades 4-8 are eligible to vote.
2009-2010 Alabama Camellia Award
The Emphasis on Reading Program awards the Camellia Award. It is Alabama’s children’s choice award program and is sponsored by the Alabama Department of Education.
